What BananaPanya is

BananaPanya looks things up across money, home, work, shopping, travel, tech, life and games, compares them, works them out, and leaves the answer here as a page or a calculator. It is not a publication about one subject, not a diary, and not a pile of information. The subject is deliberately broad. Today it may be rent, next time ad revenue, later a tax return.

Four sentences decide every page. Keep the design warm. Let the character move. Keep the sentences kind. Keep the information exact.

The master

BananaPanya is a banana’s bakery: the name joins banana and パン屋 (pan-ya), Japanese for bakery. The shop has one owner, a banana we simply call the master, and the bread is a prop. From scene to scene the master changes hat, tool and expression while looking things up, comparing them and working them out.

The shop is warm; the shelves are exact. The drawing and the tone are relaxed, and every number, date and source stays there for anyone to check.

One rule

Nothing an AI answers in ten seconds gets written up again. A page exists only when it can say why it has to — “is a deposit of 200 million won or a monthly rent of 700,000 won actually cheaper?” is not answered by an essay but by an explanation, current data and a calculator together.

Eight topics, two types

There are eight topics — money, home, work, shopping, travel, tech, life and games — and each one has its own categories. Every page is one of two types. An article is something looked up, compared and written down. A calculator takes your numbers and gives the answer. The two lead into one another: an article’s number is a calculator’s input, and the rate a calculator uses is on the page that collected it.

A topic with no pages yet stays in the menu, and its page says it is empty. Nothing is filled in to look complete.

How a page is made

Every number, condition and deadline in a page comes from an official source: a statute or public notice, a public body’s openly licensed material, a service’s own documentation, open data. Press reports and personal blogs are leads, never the source. A value this site measured itself is marked “measured here”. Nothing is written as if it were done when it was not.

Every page carries the date its facts were last verified and the date they are due for another check, because rules, fees and apps change. A page past its check date says so at the top.

About the calculators

Calculators run entirely in your browser. The numbers you enter go after the # in the page address, so a result can be shared as a link. A browser never sends the part after the # to a server, so your inputs are not transmitted to or stored by this site. A result is an estimate from the numbers you entered and the formula the page explains; the real figure depends on the institution and the moment.

What it is not

Pages about money, law, tax or official procedures explain how a rule or a calculation works. They are not advice for your situation, which belongs with the institution concerned or a professional. Those pages repeat this under the body.

Two editions

The Korean edition is written for Korea. The English edition is its own content, written for readers in the United States, not a translation of the Korean pages. Only a page useful to both readers — what a foreigner needs to do something in Korea, say — is translated, and a translated page says which original it came from.

Advertising and independence

BananaPanya is free to read and is supported by advertising. Ads are always labelled “Advertisement”, and advertisers have no say in what is covered or how. Where an affiliate link is used, the page says so beside it. Any sponsored content would carry a visible “Sponsored” label and the sponsor’s name.

If a number or a date is wrong, tell us using the contact details at the end of this page. Corrections are made in the page itself, and the page shows when it was last updated.
